Polar Bears Win Third Straight With Road Victory at Connecticut College

NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Bowdoin College women's ice hockey team extended its season-high winning streak to three games with a 3-2 win over Connecticut College on Friday evening.

The Polar Bears improve to 4-3-2 and 2-1 in the NESCAC while the Camels fall to 3-5-1 with a 1-4 record in league action.

Tara Connolly stopped 34 shots for Bowdoin while Madeline Lane and Stephanie Ludy both had a goal and an assist to lead the Polar Bear offense. Kim Tess-Wanat continued her recent hot play with her team-leading eighth goal of the season.

Lane put the Polar Bears on top for good with a shot from the right point at the 3:12 mark of the second period.  Emily Tang and Ludy assisted on the power -play marker. In the third period, Ludy added an insurance tally with 6:39 to play. Shelagh Merrill and Lane assisted on the score that proved to be the difference in the contest as the Camels scored with 61 seconds left with an extra attacker.

The two teams will meet again tomorrow afternoon for a 3:00 p.m. game at Dayton Arena.
