Bowdoin Skates to 2-2 Deadlock with Seventh-Ranked Trinity

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin and Trinity women's ice hockey teams skated to a 2-2 deadlock in NESCAC action at Sidney J. Watson Arena on Saturday. The Polar Bears (9-5-2, 6-3-1 NESCAC) slide into third place in the conference standings while the Bantams, ranked seventh in the nation, sit in fourth place at 10-2-4 (3-2-3 NESCAC).

Madeleine Lane scored the game-tying goal for Bowdoin with 6:23 remaining. Kim Weiss led Trinity with a pair of goals.

Jay Greene got Bowdoin on the board first, knocking home a rebound at 16:34 of the opening period. Trinity was able to to tie the game shortly before intermission when Weiss took a centering feed and slipped the puck past Tara Connolly with 16 seconds left in the frame.

After a scoreless second period, Weiss gave the Bantams the lead at 6:17 on the power play. Connolly stood tall for the remainder of the period, however, making a dozen saves to keep her team in the game. Bowdoin's efforts paid off when Jill Campbell broke through the Trinity defense and feeding Lane for a one-timer to tie the contest.

Trinity held a 4-2 advantage in shots in overtime. Connolly ended with 27 saves for Bowdoin while Alexa Pujol stopped 25 for the Bantams.
