BRUNSWICK, Maine - Hamilton's Stephanie Lang scored twice in the final eight minutes to lift the Continental women's ice hockey team to a 3-1 win at Bowdoin on Friday evening. Hamilton improves to 2-4-0 this season with the win while the Polar Bears dip to 3-2-0.
Hamilton carried a 1-0 lead into the third period after Becky Cairns collected a loose puck off the boards and found the back of the cage with 1:32 remaining in the second frame. Bowdoin was able to even the score midway through the final stanza when Stephanie Ludy forced a turnover and found Jill Campbell alone in front for at 10:46.
The tie did not last long, however, as Lang chipped a loose puck that deflected off a Bowdoin defender into the net just 1:11 later to give the visitors a one-goal lead. Lang sealed the win with a powerplay goal at 16:25.
Becca Hazlett made 26 saves in goal for the Continentals while Sage Santangelo stopped 21 between the pipes for the Polar Bears.
