Baskir an All-American at Women's Cross-Country Nationals

WAVERLY, Iowa - Bowdoin College cross-country runner Carolyn Baskir placed 26th at the NCAA Division III cross-country meet on Saturday at the Max Cross Country Course at Wartburg College. With the performance, Baskir earns All-American recognition.

Baskir was the first freshman finisher in the entire competition. She was the sixth finisher among those from the New England region, whose teams took four of the top eight places in the national race today. In fortieth place after three miles, Baskir made a late push and passed 14 runners in the final 1000 meters to finish 26th in 21:40.3.
