HARTFORD, Conn. - Hannah Harvey scored two goals to give the
Trinity College women's ice hockey team a 4-1 victory over Bowdoin
in NESCAC action Friday evening at Williams Rink. Trinity, ranked
fifth in the nation, improves to 13-1-2 overall and 6-1-2 in the
league with its 10th win in a row and their second win against
Bowdoin in three weeks, while the Polar Bears drop to 7-7-2 overall
and 5-3-1 in the league with their first loss in three games.
Trinity bombarded Bowdoin freshman goaltender Kayla Lessard with
17 shots in the first period, resulting in a 3-0 lead at the first
intermission. Harvey scored the first goal of the game 9:52 into
the contest from junior forward Sarah Kohn. Senior defender Hadley
Gleason beat Lessard top shelf with five minutes left in the first
frame, and sophomore forward Celia Colman-McGaw netted the third
goal on a rebound of a shot by junior forward Jill Roloff 2:34
later.
Bowdoin senior tri-captain Shana Natelson got the Polar Bears on
the board five minutes into the second period during a 5-on-3
situation for the visitors with sophomore forward Dominique Lozzi
providing the assist. Trinity answered midway through the second on
Harvey's second tally. Lessard and Trinity senior tri-captain
Isabel Iwachiw kept both teams scoreless the rest of the way in the
nets. Lessard finished with 34 saves and Iwachiw had 23 stops.
