NEW LONDON, Conn. - Bowdoin's Dominique Lozzi scored two goals and
had two assists to lead the Polar Bear women's ice hockey team to a
6-1 win over Connecticut College on Friday night. The Polar Bears
improve to 2-2-1 overall while the Camels drop to 1-5-0 this
season.
Lozzi and Kayte Holtz got things going for Bowdoin in the first
period, with Lozzi scoring on a rebound and Holtz knocking home a
puck on the doorstep to give the visitors and early lead. Kelsy
Kirker got one back for the Camels before intermission by banging
home a puck in front to make it 2-1.
After a scoreless second period, Bowdoin poured it on in the third,
scoring four times to seal the victory. Kim Tess-Wanat scored a
critical goal at 5:07 of the third period to regain Bowdoin's two
goal advantage. Stephanie Ludy added the fourth goal with 11:07
left to make it a 4-1 game. Bowdoin added two more goals, from
Campbell and Lozzi to round out the scoring.
Kayla Lessard finished with 25 saves for the Polar Bears.
Christopher made 23 saves in the setback for the hosts.
