BRUNSWICK, Maine -
Bowdoin College senior men's lacrosse player Andy Nelson (Marston
Mills, Mass.) has been named the New England Small College Athletic
Conference Player of the Week for his efforts in a pair of Polar
Bears wins. Bowdoin stands at 4-1 this season and will return to
action Monday night at Endicott College.
Nelson posted a pair of
hat tricks last week for the Polar Bears, helping his club to a 2-0
record in the process. Against Union on Wednesday, Nelson netted
three goals during a 14-5 win. He followed with three more markers
on Saturday against Springfield in a thrilling 11-10
victory.
Nelson is currently tied
for the team lead in goals with 10 so far this season. He finished
third on the team in scoring in 2005 with 16 goals and five
assists.
