BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's golf team delivered a historic weekend at its home Polar Bear Shootout, shattering the program's 18- and 36-hole scoring records en route to a second-place finish in the 14-team field at Brunswick Golf Club.
The Polar Bears posted the first two sub-300 team rounds in program history, opening with a record 298 on Saturday before lowering the mark again with a 295 on Sunday. Bowdoin's two-day total of 593 easily surpassed the previous program record of 611, set at the Polar Bear Shootout in 2024.
Tournament Highlights
- Bowdoin finished second overall at 593 (+9), just five strokes behind tournament champion Middlebury (588, +4). Amherst (595), Hamilton (597) and Williams (598) rounded out the top five.
- The Polar Bears established a new program 18-hole scoring record with a 298 (+6) on Saturday, breaking the previous mark of 304 set in 2024.
- Bowdoin immediately lowered the record again on Sunday in poor, rainy conditions, firing a 295 (+3). It marked the first time in program history the Polar Bears have broken 300 in a round – accomplishing the feat on consecutive days.
- The two rounds gave Bowdoin a 593 (+9) 36-hole total, breaking the previous school record of 611 by 18 strokes.
- Hailey Lim led the Polar Bears with back-to-back rounds of one-under 72, finishing at 144 (-2) to tie for third overall in the field of 87 golfers. She finished just one stroke behind co-medalists Amanda Phillips of Wesleyan and Season Wei of Middlebury.
- Allison Le also earned a top-10 finish, improving from a first-round 75 to a 73 on Sunday for a 148 (+2) total and a tie for ninth place.
- Emily Renoff tied for 17th at 150 (+4) following rounds of 76 and 74.
- Bowdoin's depth was on display throughout the weekend, as all five Polar Bears finished among the top 34 in the 87-player field. Katie Ng placed 33rd at 154 (75-79), while Isabella Salerno tied for 34th at 155 (79-76).
