Coach Pizzo's Report - April 7

The Polar Bears competed in three events this past weekend including the Open Team Race Champs at Brown, the Emily Wick Trophy at Connecticut College, and the Mystic Lake Team Race at Tufts.

Racing at Tufts was limited to Saturday as there was no breeze on Sunday. The team finished 6th overall with a 4-10 record.Cole Amaral, Caroline O'Hara, Noah Reischmann, Yasi Nee, Ryan Keenan, Henry Ladd, Ava Tobias, Eve Cintron competed for Bowdoin

Windy conditions allowed for excellent racing at the Open Team Race Championship at Brown. The team finished 11th of 12 teams competing with a record of 2-9 with strong wins against Yale and Coast Guard. Lucca Antonietti, Hazel Johnson, Miki Veechio, Izzy Tsuchitori, Ethan Danielson, Lottie Pare, Maizie Bartlett, Kique Ruiz, Riley Donahue, Owen Benison, and Kyra Phelan competed for Bowdoin

The women's fleet race at the Emily Wick Trophy was the best regatta of the weekend for the Polar Beras. The team finished 1st out of 15 competing teams. Lauren Russler sailing with Kai Olson and Posie Cabaniss won A division with Rebecca Schill and Maggie Tripp competing in B division. Mairéad Reitizel was a reserve.

This upcoming weekend the team will compete in the Women's Team Race Championship at Tufts, the Oberg Trophy at MIT, and the Thompson Trophy at Coast Guard.
