Lauren Russler Named All-American Women's Skipper By Intercollegiate Sailing Association

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin senior Lauren Russler (Coral Gables, Fla.) has been named a Women's Skipper All-American by the Intercollegiate Sailing Association. Selected by the All-America Selection Committee, these sailors represent the highest level of achievement in collegiate sailing through their performance, leadership, and competitive excellence throughout the season.

Russler earns the honor after a fantastic season with the Polar Bears, that included seven top-five finishes during the year. Along with Ava Tobias, Russler won the A-Division at the Regis Trophy and Mrs. Hurst Bowl, and claimed the Emily Wick Trophy with Kai Olson and Posie Cabaniss.

She capped her career by helping lead the program to its first-ever appearance at women's team race nationals in April. Then, in May, Russler teamed with Olson to post the best-ever performance by a Bowdoin team at a national championship, finishing fourth overall.
