BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College sailing team highlighted another busy weekend of competition with a victory at the Barnett Trophy at home, while the Polar Bears also competed at Boston College, Harvard and MIT. Bowdoin placed two teams in the top five at the 18-team Barnett Trophy, including the overall team victory, while Rebecca Schill took fourth in the Women's Singlehanded competition at Boston College.
Weekend Highlights
- Women's Singlehanded – Boston College: Rebecca Schill turned in a strong performance in singlehanded competition, finishing fourth overall, just two points shy of third place. Schill will now await selections for the Women's Singlehanded National Championship.
- Barnett Trophy – Bowdoin: The Polar Bears claimed first and fifth place among 18 teams on their home waters. Bowdoin's first team featured Noah Reischmann and Yasmine Nee in A Division, along with Shea McGrath and Maizie Bartlett in B Division. McGrath and Bartlett delivered a decisive performance, winning B Division by 14 points to help propel Bowdoin to the overall team victory. Bowdoin's second entry also posted a top-five showing, finishing fifth overall. Cole Amaral and Ela Murat competed in A Division, while Charlie Conover and Clio Foley sailed in B Division.
- Hatch Brown Trophy – MIT: Bowdoin finished ninth overall in the 16-team field at the Hatch Brown Trophy. Michelangelo Vecchio and Elizabeth Wire led the way with a fourth-place finish in A Division. Ryan Keenan and Hazel Johnson competed in B Division, while Henry Ladd and Eve Cintron represented the Polar Bears in C Division.
- Regis Trophy – Harvard: Bowdoin finished 12th among 17 teams at the Regis Trophy. Mairead Reitzel and Maggie Tripp competed in A Division, with Posie Cabaniss and Caroline O'Hara sailing in B Division. Char Wilkin served as the team's reserve.
