BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin sophomore
Ray Cuevas (Ipswich, Mass.) has been named First Team All-New England Small College Athletic Conference in awards handed out by the league on Wednesday.
Cuevas is Bowdoin's first First Team All-NESCAC selection since Lucas Hausman in 2016.
The most prolific scorer in the NESCAC in a decade, Cuevas finished the year at 22.2 points per game, nearly four points clear of any other player in the conference and the most by a NESCAC player since Hausman averaged 25.3 points per game in 2015-16. He also led the league in three-point field goal percentage (.450) and ended in the top ten in field goal percentage (.486).
Through two season Cuevas has totaled 925 points, the most-ever by a Bowdoin men's basketball player in their first two years.
Bowdoin finished their year with a mark of 15-10, placing sixth in the NESCAC and falling to eventual conference champion Trinity in the quarterfinals, 64-63.
