Coach Pizzo's Report - September 8
The Bowdoin sailing team jumped into the season with a quartet of regattas over the weekend.
The Harman Trophy at Maine Maritime was a qualifier for the Match Race Championships.
Ethan Danielson,
Riley Donahue,
Kique Ruiz, and
Lucca Antonietti took the third and final qualifying spot for the NEISA Match Race Championships after completing four races in high wind conditions.
Bowdoin finished in the top half of competitors at the Harry Anderson hosted by Yale. Miki Veechio,
Elizabeth Wire,
Kyra Phelan, Izzy Tsuchitori,
Owen Benison, and
Cole Amaral raced for Bowdoin.
Down at the Harvard Invitational, Bowdoin secured 3
rd, 5
th, and 8
th place finishes after waiting out the weather to earn clean racing conditions in 4-6 knot winds.

Shea McGrath, and
Maggie Tripp raced for the Polar Bears.
Nearby, MIT hosted the Toni Duestch Regatta with 10 races completed per division in puffy 7-15 knot winds.
Lauren Russler,
Ava Tobias,
Caroline O'Hara, Mairéad Reitzel, and
Yasmine Nee competed for Bowdoin and earned a 7
th-place finish out of 18.
This upcoming weekend Bowdoin is hosting the Barnett Trophy and will compete at the Hatch Brown at MIT, The Regis Trophy at Harvard, and at Open Singles at Brown.
