BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin sailing team will compete in Fleet Race Nationals at St. Mary's College of Maryland in both the open and women's divisions, running May 20-23 and 27-30.

The women's semifinals begin on May 20 and the open fleet racing begins on May 27. Both teams were at-large bids chosen by a selection committee following strong results in the fall season.

On the women's side,
Kyra Phelan,
Lauren Russler, and
Rebecca Schill will be skippering with
Holliss Hirsch, Kai Olson,
Maizie Bartlett, and Mairéad Reitzel as crew. The team will compete in two days of semifinal races and two days of finals. The top nine teams in the semifinals will advance to the final two days, a total of 18 teams. Scoring starts anew with finals and new scores carry over from previous races.

Racing for the Polar Bears in Open Nationals will be Thibault Antonietti,
Sam Bonauto,
Benjamin Stevens, and Schill. Crewing for Bowdoin will be
Timmy Gee,
Elizabeth Wire,
Kique Ruiz,
Aidan Michelow, Olson, and Hirsch. Open Nationals follows the same race format as the women's regatta the previous week.
