Track Teams Set High Marks Across Trio of Meets on Busy Weekend of Action

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College track & field teams competed at a trio of meets across the east coast in a busy weekend of action.

Regis Spring Invitational - RESULTS

A small group of Polar Bears was highlighted by Charlie Aucoin winning the men's discus with a throw of 45.16m, good enough for New England D3 qualification. Taira Blakely was runner-up with a distance of 38.57m.
Aucoin also finished as a runner-up in the shot put (13.22m) and hammer throw (42.18m).

Dooley Invitational – Emory University – RESULTS

A contingent of Polar Bears traveled to Atlanta to compete at a deep field at the Dooley Invitational hosted by Emory.
Charlotte Hodge broke her own school record in the pole vault (3.90m), placing second overall, and currently ranks sixth in Division III.
Adepoju Arogundade posted a season-best time of 53.80 in the 400 hurdles, rising to 9^th in Division III rankings this spring.
Kane Demers was runner-up in the long jump (7.08m) and Ian Stebbins took second in the pole vault (4.70m), both reaching New England D3 qualifying marks.

Tymann Invitational – Gordon College – RESULTS

Bowdoin posted numerous podium finishes at Gordon to cap their weekend action, battling cold and rainy conditions.
Winners in the women's meet included Kennedy Kirkland in the 100m (12.55) and 400m (1:02.94), Julia Kane in the 100 hurdles (16.01), Catherine Uwakwe in the 400 hurdles (1:09.24), Greta Ahlefeld in the 3000 steeplechase (12:11.78), and Rose Jenkins in the long jump (5.09m).
The women's 4x100 relay of Sophia Young, Juliette Coley, Anna Kim, and Catherine Uwakwe also earned a victory in a time of 50.66.
The men's team was equally as dominant, getting wins from Brendan Burke in the 100m (11.27) and 200m (22.91), Ronan O'Flaherty in the 400m (50.60), Joseph Phillips in the 100 hurdles (15.59) and 400 hurdles (57.86), Omar Frostman El-Hmaini in the triple jump (12.83m), and Daniel Darvensky in the hammer throw (39.82m).
Bowdoin's 4x100 relay team also took first place in a time of 42.98 courtesy of Dominic Ashinze, Ian Bridges, Justin Whitney, and Noah Rockey.

The Polar Bears will have athletes competing at Smith and Providence next weekend.
