Hodge, Novak Lead Women's Track & FIeld at NESCAC Championships

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Bowdoin College women's track and field team finished fifth at the 2025 NESCAC Championships Saturday at Wesleyan University.
 
Championship Highlights
  • Bowdoin ended with 64.5 points, finishing solidly in fifth spot behind Middlebury (113) and ahead of Colby (58). Williams scored 156 points to win the title.
  • The Polar Bears boasted a pair of NESCAC champions at the meet as Charlotte Hodge (pole vault) and Mardy Novak (javelin) took first-place finishes.
  • Hodge won the pole vault for the third time in her career (3.80m), becoming the only vaulter to clear 3.80m at the meet. She joins Kelsie Hao (Williams/Tufts) as the only athlete to win the NESCAC Championship in the pole vault three times in a career.
  • Mardy Novak became the first Bowdoin athlete to win the javelin since 2000, posting a career-best performance (41.93) to claim her first NESCAC title. She also placed second in the shot put with a personal best throw of 12.18m.
  • Kennedy Kirkland had a busy championship, placing third in a close-fought long jump competition (5.72m), taking fourth in the 100m (12.38) and fifth in the 200m (25.35).
