CRANSTON, R.I. – The Bowdoin sailing team is set to compete at the 2025 Team Race Nationals hosted by Brown University from April 24-26.
The Polar Bears were selected by committee to compete at this year's nationals following several strong performances during the course of the season. Top finishes for the Polar Bears included a 2
nd out of 10 at the Kings Point Open Team Race with wins over several strong out-of-conference opponents. Bowdoin finished 5
th of 8 at the Marchiando Trophy-Red, with decisive wins over Stanford and Tulane. Both those teams received automatic qualification to nationals through conference championships. At the Thompson Trophy the Polar Bears posted wins over Brown, Stanford, and Yale.
Team Race Nationals is hosted by Brown University at the Edgewood Yacht Club in Cranston, R.I. The team race format will pit three Bowdoin boats against three boats from an opponent. Racing will open with a round robin where each team will compete at least once against every other team. The series of round robins awards scores to each team, carrying forward into subsequent rounds.
