WATERVILLE, Maine – The Bowdoin College track teams competed in the Pine Tree State Invitational hosted by Colby College last weekend in Waterville. The Polar Bear men placed second overall while the women took fourth in the entirely in-state competition.
 
Men's Meet Highlights

• Bowdoin finished with 134 points, trailing only Bates (181) in the ten-team field.
• The Polar Bears swept the hurdles races with Kane Demers (14.76) winning the 110 and Adepoju Arogundade claiming the 400 (53.40). Joseph Phillips was runner-up in the 400 (56.27).
• Lars Sorom took second place in the 800m (1:54.84) while Will Goddard was runner-up in the 1500m (3:52.36).
• Henry Risch took a second-place showing in the shot put (13.18m) while Charlie Aucoin was second in the discus (46.22m) and third in the hammer (45.07).

Women's Meet Highlights

• The Polar Bear women totaled 111 points to finish fifth in the nine-team field, with Bates coming in first at 189.33 points.
• Astrid McGuire placed first in the 800m to earn the Polar Bears' lone victory of the meet, in a time of 2:15.46.
• Bowdoin earned a number of other strong finishes, including Cam Meyer in the 1500 meters (4:44.28), Sophie Maguire in the pole vault (3.25m), Emma Gibbens in the shot put (11.58m), and Mardy Novak in the discus (39.88m).
• The 4x100 relay team of Sophia Young, Juliette Coley, Anna Kim, and Kennedy Kirkland also placed second in a time of 48.71.
