GREENSBORO, N.C. –
Natalie Garre (Bethesda, Md.) made not just Bowdoin history but national history, rewriting the Division III record books with a blistering championship-winning time in the 1650 on Saturday night.
Garre became the first Polar Bear in program history to win multiple events at a single NCAA Championship after winning both the 500 and 1650 freestyle events at Division III Nationals. Garre set a new NCAA record with a time of 16:17.84, shattering the previous record by nearly four full seconds.
