COLCHESTER, Vt. – The Bowdoin Nordic ski team posted a historic finish in the women's relay on Saturday at the St. Michael's Carnival with a second place result.
For the first time in program history, the women's relay finished as runners-up in an EISA event.
Emma Crum continued her individual success with a second place finish in Friday's 10K skate.
Carnival Highlights
- Friday's skate took place on 5k loop that skiers completed twice on the hilly course. Crum picked up her second podium in as many carnivals, sandwiching her second place finish between a pair of UVM skiers.
- Jordan Grialou narrowly missed out on a top-ten finish, finishing just four seconds back in 11th place. Gillian Fairfax continued a promising first-year campaign with a 22nd place finish. All Bowdoin skiers finished in the top-40.
- On the men's side, Adam Carlisle was the top finisher in 12th place, jockeying for position in a tight field of finishers. William Riley turned in an 18th place finish and Lars Sorom was 35th.
- The trio of Grialou, Fairfax, and Crum combined to put together the historic program best in the 3x5k relay on Saturday. Each member of the relay skied two laps around the 2.5k course. Grialou skied the first leg of the relay and maintained good position within the front of the pack before handing off to Fairfax. Fairfax stayed tight with the leaders and handed off the Crum to close out the race.
- Bowdoin's second women's team finished 11th overall.
- The men's relays finished 8th and 17th.
