BOSTON, Mass. – The Bowdoin track & field team split up to compete at a pair of meets over the weekend, including the Boston University Valentine Invitational and Lynn Ruddy Invitational.
 
The Polar Bears posted individual results at BU and won the Lynn Ruddy Invitational at home.
 
Weekend Highlights

• In Boston, Kennedy Kirkland's 200 meter was a .17 season-best time (25.40). Astrid McGuire ran the 800 meter in a time of 2:18.06 for a career and season-best to sit eighth on the Bowdoin all-time list.
• Both Cam Meyer and Angelina Hickey ran Division III New England Qualifier times in the mile.
• At home, Anna Kim took sole possession of the eighth spot in Bowdoin history for the 200 meter with a 26.91.
• Catherine Uwakwe finished second in the 60 hurdles and moved into sixth all-time at Bowdoin (9.47).
• The Polar Bears dominated the pole vault with Sophie Maguire finishing first (3.40 meter) and Sonia Katahdin in second (3.40 meter). The height is a PR for Katahdin and ties Maguire's PR. The duo sit fourth all-time in program history.
• Emma Gibbens won the shot put with a throw of 12.11 meter to improve to seventh all-time.
• Meyer and Hickey were joined by Kirkland and McGuire as D3 New England Qualifiers. Kim, Uwakwe, Gibbens, Maguire, and Katahdin all did the same at home. Rose Jenkins won the long jump (5.12 meters) and joined her teammates for the qualifier. Francine Miller's 1:43.66 in the 600 achieved the same. Mardy Novak was second in the shot put (11.57 meters) and also joins the list.
