BOSTON, Mass. – The Bowdoin track & field teams split up to compete at a trio of meets over the weekend, including the Boston University Valentine Invitational, Tufts Stampede, and Lynn Ruddy Invitational.
The Polar Bears posted individual results at BU and Tufts and won the Lynn Ruddy Invitational at home.
Weekend Highlights
- Three runners made the trip to BU to compete and all posted season-best results. Ronan O'Flaherty ran a 49.05 in the 400 meter to move himself into third on the Bowdoin All-Time list. Aidan Singer competed in the 800 meter with a 1:59.20 and Seamus McDonough went 4:20.83 in the mile.
- At Tufts, the DMR quartet of Matthew Servin, Adepoju Arogundade, Oliver Brandes, and Will Goddard finished fifth overall in a highly competitive field. Their time of 9:59.17 ranks them fifth in the NCAA and seventh all-time at Bowdoin.
- In Farley Field House, Bowdoin won the Lynn Ruddy Invitational behind eight first-place finishes. Noah Rockey won the 60 meters with a time of 7.02 and improves to fourth all-time, while Kane Demers moves to sixth all-time with a 7.03.
- Ian Stebbins rebroke the program's pole vault record with a 4.90 meter success and is tied for 11th in the NCAA.
- Demers improved to third all-time at Bowdoin in the long jump with a 7.11 meter jump and sits 20th in the nation.
- Multiple Polar Bears put together Division III New England Qualifier performances. Rockey and Demers posted results for the 60 meter and Demers also qualified in the long jump. Calvin Klumpp earned second at the meet with a 1:25.99 in the 600 and also earned a spot. Charlie Aucoin also reached the mark with second in the shot put with a 13.68 meter throw. Stebbins pole vault also cleared the bar. O'Flaherty and the DMR also join the D3NE Qualifier crew.
