BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's track & field team won the 2025 Maine State Indoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday afternoon at Farley Field House. The Polar Bears, who have claimed the last three state crowns, totaled 200 points to earn the win in the eight-team field, with Bates (179.5) and Southern Maine (142.5) finishing in second and third place.
 
Meet Highlights

• Kennedy Kirkland was all over the Bowdoin victory, winning the long-jump in a meet record distance of 5.65m. Kirkland also anchored Bowdoin's 4x400 relay win (4:10.95) with Rose Jenkins, Catherine Uwakwe, and Juliette Coley. Kirkland also took a runner-up finish in the 60m (7.93) and was third in the 200m (25.83).
• Bowdoin dominated the track events, getting wins from Astrid McGuire in the 600m (1:38.14), Kaylee Hale in the 800m (2:20.89), Angelina Hickey in the 3000m (10:25.77), and Ellie Saksena in the 5K (19:25.88). Lex Davis was second in the 1000m (3:07.95) and Cam Meyer was runner-up in the mile (5:12.40).
• The Polar Bears also claimed the 4x800 relay (9:44.67) courtesy of Hale, Davis, Emma Randall-Jarrard, and McGuire.
• Bowdoin's depth paid off in the field events as the Polar Bears went 2-3 in the pole vault courtesy of Sonia Katahdin (3.25m) and Sophie Maguire (3.10m) and 2-3-4 in the shot put thanks to Emma Gibbens (11.94m) and Ginger Arnold (11.75m), and Mardy Novak (11.62m).
• Gibbens also gathered a third-place finish in the weight throw (13.15m), as did Sara Schubert in the high jump (1.51m) and Julia Kane in the triple jump (11.06m).
