Nordic Skiing Stays Consistent at Dartmouth Carnival With More Strong Results

HANOVER, N.H. – The Bowdoin Nordic skiing team continued its fantastic season with more strong finishes at the Dartmouth Carnival over the weekend.

Carnival Highlights

The team raced a 2.5k lap to complete a total of 7.5k in classic on Friday. Emma Crum again paced the women with another podium finish (second) and was joined by Jordan Grialou in the top-ten. The women placed second overall, narrowly edging Middlebury, with help from Gillian Fairfax (18^th), Keira Scott (31^st), and Kira Gilbert (33^rd).
William Riley was the fastest skier on the men's side for the Polar Bears with a dead-tie for 19^th with a Saint Michael's skier. Lars Sorom and Adam Carlisle both finished in the top-30.
Saturday's race was a 20k mass start skate on a 3.3k loop. Emma Crum was a leader in the pack after one lap and stayed with the lead pack as the race thinned out. Crum finished fifth overall after the podium finishers pulled away coming into the final small hill.
Grialou and Fairfax finished back-to-back in 15^th and 16^th as Scott turned in a 27^th place finish.
Carlisle catapulted up the finishing standings on Saturday with an eighth-place finish. Riley also secured a top-20 finish.
