Men's Basketball Signs New Teammate Isaac Through Team IMPACT

BRUNSWICK, Maine – On Saturday, December 13, the Bowdoin College men's basketball team announced a new team member, Isaac Bliven of Yarmouth, through Team IMPACT.

Isaac, an eight year-old diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1, officially signed with the team following a practice in Morrell Gymnasium. He will participate in many activities with Bowdoin, including games, practices, and other team events with the Polar Bears.

Team IMPACT, a national non-profit organization, has developed a unique multiyear program that matches children facing serious illness and disability with college athletic teams across the country. Based on a clinical model, Team IMPACT guides a symbiotic relationship between teams and children focused on socialization, empowerment, and resilience.
