BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's squash team won two of three matches in a busy week of action against NESCAC opponents. The Polar Bears, ranked 18^th in the nation, stand at 4-1 overall this season.
 
Match Highlights

• The Polar Bears opened the week with wins over 27^th-ranked Conn College (9-0) and 19^th-ranked Wesleyan (8-1) before falling to #15 Amherst (8-1).
• Bowdoin cruised to the shutout of the Camels, posting eight 3-0 sweeps of the nine matches. Amanda Cowhey, Darcy Weber, Clare Collins, Kira Gwadry, Amelie Matuch, Linley Grosman, Mira Karande, and Ellie Kennedy accounted for the wins for the Polar Bears.
• Against Wesleyan, the Polar Bears carded an impressive 8-1 decision. Collins, Gwadry, Matuch, and Grossman earned 3-0 wins while Emma Watts-Roy, Cowhey, and Weber all posted 3-1 triumphs. Kennedy wrapped up the win with a hard-fought 3-2 win at number nine.
• The Polar Bears couldn't knock off Amherst in their final match of the week, but got a 3-1 win from Matuch at number six. Cowhey was just edged out in a hard-fought match at number two, 3-2, in the next closest decision.

• The Polar Bears will return to action with a trip to Upstate New York next weekend, beginning with a match at William Smith on Sunday, Jan. 12, at 10:00 a.m. before heading to Canton, N.Y. to play at St. Lawrence on Monday the 13^th at 10:00 a.m.
