Women's Squash Takes Maine Crown, Takes Sixth Seed for NESCACs

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's squash team earned the title of Maine State champions with a regular season-ending sweep of Bates and Colby last weekend, and earned the sixth seed for the upcoming NESCAC Championship that begins Saturday at Hamilton College.
 
Weekend Highlights
  • The Polar Bears earned a 7-2 win over Bates on Friday before celebrating Senior Day with a win Sunday against Colby, 6-3.
  • Bowdoin swept the six matches at positions four through nine to secure the win against Bates. Clare Collins, Linley Grosman, Amelie Matuch, Elizabeth Kennedy, Cory Spiegel all took 3-0 wins while Mira Karande was a victor by default.
  • Eshika Tangri accounted for the other Bowdoin win, taking a 3-2 win at number two.
  • It was more of the same for the Polar Bears against Colby as their depth triumphed with six more wins at positions four through nine.
  • Collins, Grosman, Matuch, Kennedy, Spiegel, and Karande each secured points to lift the Polar Bears to the win over the Mules.
