MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Bowdoin College track and field team returned from break at the Middlebury Winter Classic, picking up six individual event wins in a successful performance at a meet that included seven schools, including Division I Vermont.
 
Women's Meet Highlights

• Kennedy Kirkland led the way for Bowdoin, earning a pair of wins in the 200m (26.07) and the long jump (5.53m).
• Sophia Young won the 60m dash, finishing in a time of 7.98 seconds to take the win while Emma Gibbens took the top spot in the shot put with a toss of 11.68m.
• Gibbens was followed closely in the shot put by Mardy Novak, who took runner-up with a throw of 1.66.
• Bowdoin also finished 2-3-4 in the 600m race as Astrid McGuire (1:39.27) and Kaylee Hale (1:40.07) posted impressive collegiate debuts, while sophomore Francine Miller was right behind them in 1:46.21.

Men's Meet Highlights

• Kane Demers tied the school record in winning the 60 hurdles (8.18) for the Polar Bears. He also was the runner-up in the long jump (6.56m) and the triple jump (12.91m).
• Oliver Brandes earned the other win for the Bowdoin men in the 600m (1:22.04).
• Demers led a 1-2-3 finish in the 60 hurdles, followed closely by Joseph Phillips (8.37) and Adepoju Arogundade (8.47).
• Matthew Servin took a runner-up showing for Bowdoin in the 1000m (2:33.81) while Ian Stebbins took second in the pole vault (4.30m).
