Hodge and Kirkland Earn All-American Honors on Day One of NCAA Track & Field

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – A pair of Bowdoin athletes earned All-American status on day one of the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
 
Charlotte Hodge cleared a height of 3.71 meters to earn 16th place overall and earn Second Team All-American honors in the pole vault on Thursday. That was followed shortly thereafter by Kennedy Kirkland's distance of 5.62 meters in the long jump, earning 13th place and also taking Second Team All-American recognition.
 
Max Russo competed in the 400m hurdle preliminaries late in the day on Thursday and posted a time of 52.58, the seventh best of the day, and earning a spot in the finals scheduled for Saturday evening at 6:25 p.m.
