Polar Bear Season Recap – Dual Match Statistics
The Polar Bears opened their season with a strong start, going 6-0 to open their campaign with numerous wins over nationally-ranked squads. Bowdoin battled injuries through the mid-point of their season, dropping five of nine matches at one point in late March/early April. The Polar Bears found their footing by mid-month, however, and returned to full strength just in time for the NESCAC Tournament, where they avenged their three NESCAC regular-season losses in succession (Amherst, Middlebury, Tufts) to
claim the conference title. Bowdoin then dispatched Nichols and
Williams to advance out of their home regional last weekend to return to the national quarterfinals for the second straight year. Bowdoin's
Tristan Bradley was named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Player of the Year and head coach
Conor Smith was named Coach of the Year in
conference awards announced last week.
Bowdoin vs. Potential Championship Opponents
Bowdoin took a shortened
6-1 decision over Case Western in California in March. That was the first meeting between the squads since 2018, and the programs have met
three times overall (2024, '18, 13), all won by Bowdoin. Bowdoin has also faced Middlebury (1-1), Tufts (1-1), and Claremont (0-1) this season.
