CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Bowdoin College men's tennis team dominated the competition on day one of the Stag-Hen Invitational in California on Friday.
 
The sixth-ranked Polar Bears (6-0) dispatched 26^th-ranked Pomona 7-0 before cruising past fourth-ranked Case Reserve 6-1 to advance to Saturday's title match of the tournament against Claremont Mudd Scripps at 10:00 a.m. local time.
 
Match Highlights

• Against Pomona in the opening round, Bowdoin won the one-point doubles with a sweep of all three matches courtesy of Tristan Bradley/Reid Staples (7-6), Jack Flores/Jackson Codd (6-3), and Mark Kneiss/Andrew Mendelson (6-0).
• Bowdoin swept all six singles matches, including five in straight-sets from Tristan Bradley, Staples, Kneiss, Ethan Bradley, and Mendelson. Flores won a super tiebreaker to take a win at number six.
• Against the defending national champions in the afternoon, Bowdoin again swept doubles to take the point. Bradley/Staples and Codd/Flores won again and were joined by Ethan Bradley/Pieter Breuker in the win column.
• Tristan Bradley and Staples took quick straight-set wins to put Bowdoin ahead 3-0 early in singles play. Andrew Mendelson clinched it with a 7-5, 6-3 win at number six, and Mark Kneiss and Ethan Bradley rounded out the day with victories to make it a 6-1 final.
