Coach Pizzo's Report - April 1

The Polar Bears competed in three events this weekend including the BU Fleet Race, the Dellenbaugh Women's Team Race at Brown, and the Staake Trophy Team Race at Bowdoin.

Six races were completed in each division at BU in windy conditions.  The Polar Bears finished 4^th of 11 teams.  Miki Vecchio and Posie Cabaniss competed in A division with Shea McGrath, Alex Bloom, and Reed Carlman in B division.

At home, three round robins were sailed in a cold and windy westerly at the Schiller Coastal Studies Center.  The Polar Bears went 12-0 and qualified for the Fowle Trophy at Brown next weekend. Sam Bonauto, Timmy Gee, Kique Ruiz, Tbo Antonietti, Kai Olson, Izzy Tsuchitori, and Tom Hall competed for the Polar Bears.

The Dellenbaugh Trophy featured many of the top women's team in the country.  Racing was incredibly tight all weekend.  Conditions were windy on Saturday and more moderate on Sunday.  The Polar Bears finished with a record of 6-10, finishing in 8^th of 11 teams overall.  Kyra Phelan, Holliss Hirsch, Lulu Louchheim, Lauren Russler, Christine Reimer, Maizie Bartlett, Katie Kurtz, an Rebecca Schill competed for the Polar Bears.

This upcoming weekend, the team will compete at the Fowle Trophy Team Race Championship at Brown and the Bowdoin Women's Team Race at home.
