BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's squash team is the sixth seed for the upcoming NESCAC Championship Tournament scheduled for this weekend at Amherst College.
Bowdoin is the No. 6 seed for the third consecutive season and will play No. 3 Middlebury to open its NESCAC Championship Saturday at noon. The Polar Bears fell, 7-2, to the Panthers in the teams regular season meeting back on January 14. Bowdoin handed Middlebury a 7-2 loss in the 2022 consolation round to improve to 3-1 against the Panthers all-time in the NESCAC Tournament.
A win over Middlebury would mark Bowdoin's first semifinal appearance since 2009. The Polar Bears, who have qualified for every NESCAC Championship, have won three straight matches entering this year's tournament.
The top eight teams in the conference based on ELO rankings will compete for the title in a single-elimination tournament. Quarterfinal matches are set to begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 10. The semifinals and final are set to be played on Sunday, February 11.
