RIPTON, Vt. – The Bowdoin nordic ski team finished fifth overall at the Middlebury Carnival which doubles as the regional finals.
 
The women had a fantastic carnival with a second place team result in Friday's freestyle. The women were fifth in mass start classic.
 
Carnival Highlights

• Emma Crum continued her breakout season with a second place finish on Friday. Teammates Jordan Grialou and Morgan Richter turned in stellar races as well and both finished in the top-ten. Bowdoin was the only small college to place even a single skier in the top ten.
• The men were paced by Adam Carlisle (19^th) and Zachary Ennis (30^th).
• Crum stuck around the front of the pack in Saturday's classic with a fifth place result. Grialou finished just outside the top-ten, but edged Emma Reeder from Dartmouth by .2.
• Richter and Natalie Hood each turned in top-30 times.
• William Riley jumped up the lead the men on Saturday with a 23^rd place finish. Carlisle finished 28^th and Ennis was 31^st.
• Head coach Nathan Alsobrook was named EISA Coach of the Year. Emma Crum earned first-team recognition for her fantastic season.

• The NCAA Championship qualifiers are announced on February 27. The 7.5 km freestyle will take place on March 7 and the 20 km mass start classic race is on March 9. All nordic events are taking place at Howelson Hills in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
