Women's Hockey Closes Out Season in Quarterfinal at Amherst

Box Score AMHERST, Mass. – The Bowdoin women's ice hockey team saw its seasons come to an end in a 2-0 quarterfinal loss at top-seeded Amherst on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears conclude the season with an 8-14-3 record. The top-ranked Mammoths continue their season at 21-2-2. Bowdoin played three tight games against Amherst this season with one-goal losses in both regular season meetings.
 
Game Highlights
  • Amherst held a 15-5 edge in shots on goal for the first period, but both teams went into the first intermission tied 0-0.
  • The Mammoths came out and scored early in the second. Under two minutes into the frame, Marie-Eve Marleau took the puck down the right side and passed left to Maeve Reynolds Reynolds buried a wrister from just outside the crease.
  • Both teams put nine shots on net in the second as the Polar Bears balanced the Amherst attack.
  • The Mammoths iced the game in the final two minutes off an empty-netter with the same stat line as their first.
