BRUNSWICK, Maine – A pair of defenders from the Bowdoin women's soccer team were recognized in All-New England Small College Athletic Conference honors announced by the league on Wednesday.
Goaltender
Charlotte Iannone (East Williston, N.Y.) and defender
Jess Klein (Williston, Vt.) were both honored as Second Team All-NESCAC selections by the conference coaches.
No one in the conference faced more shots than Iannone this season, who made a league-best 98 saves (27 more than any other goalie in the league). The junior netminder posted a respectable 1.19 goals against average on the year.
Klein, a senior, started all 15 games, playing every minute in 14 of those contests, bolstering the Bowdoin defense in front of Iannone. Thanks to Klein's efforts, the Polar Bears permitted just 17 goals in 15 matches this year.
