BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's rugby team celebrated its home opener in style, cruising to a 57-10 win over Northeastern University on Sunday at Pickard Field. The Polar Bears move to 2-0 this season with the victory and have outscored their opponents 112-15 so far through two matches.
 
Match Highlights

• Bowdoin jumped to a quick 12-0 lead thanks to early trys from Saniya Ridley and Colleen Doucette.
• After a Northeastern score cut the lead to 12-5, Bowdoin rolled off 26 points before halftime to put the contest out of reach.
• Long scores by Rebecca Vakarau and Saniya Ridley highlighted the surge, which also included scores from Katie Stomma and Lauryn Eisenhart.
• Maggie Norton, Kyra Bishop and rookie Mia Daoust all scored second half trys to cap the win.
• Lauryn Eisenhart had six conversions on the day and Bowdoin's defense improved from a week ago, highlighted by number of tackles into touch in today's contest.
