Women's Track & Field Takes Third at Pine Tree State Classic

STANDISH, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's track & field team placed third at the Pine Tree State Classic hosted by St. Joseph's College on Saturday. The Polar Bears scored 107 points to trail only Bates (156) and Southern Maine (128) in the team competition.
 
Meet Highlights
  • Kianne Benjamin led the way for Bowdoin with a pair of wins, taking first in both the 200m (25.32) and 400m (57.40) races.
  • Abby Mueller took first place in the 1500m (4:49.45) while, in the field events, Sophie Maguire won the pole vault (3.25m) and Emma Hargreaves won the hammer throw (47.06m).
  • Hargreaves also took third in the shot put (11.83m) while Katherine Page (100m, 12.94), Lauren Traum (800m, 2:19.44) and Jiahn Son (10k, 42:52.73) all earned second-place finishes in their events for the Polar Bears.

  • The Polar Bears will compete in the 2023 NESCAC Championship next weekend, hosted by Connecticut College.
