RIPTON, Vt. – The Bowdoin Nordic ski team raced into fifth place at the Saint Michael's Carnival over the weekend.
The Polar Bears skied through fresh falling snow in Friday's sprint. Saturday's colder temperatures brought firm snowpack for the 15k mass start classic race, the first classic race of the season.
Carnival Highlights
- Zachary Ennis advanced all the way to the semifinals in Friday's sprint.
- Both Carson Williams and Adam Carlisle advanced out of the morning qualifiers and raced in the quarterfinals.
- First-year Jordan Grialou skated in the semifinals, while teammate Aggie Macy finished as one of the top quarterfinalists.
- Ennis and Williams finished consecutively in eighth and ninth in Saturday's classic race. Carlisle narrowly missed out on a top-30 finish.
- Grialou capped a fantastic weekend of racing with a top-ten finish over the 15k course.
- Morgan Richter recorded the fasted course time in the second lap and finished 16th overall.
- Macy and Emma Crum finished 26th and 27th, respectively, putting four Polar Bears in the top-30.
