CLINTON, N.Y. – The Bowdoin College women's outdoor track & field team matched its best finish at the New England Small College Athletic Conference Championship in the last 24 years, taking third at the conference meet Saturday at Hamilton College.
 
Meet Highlights

• The Polar Bears took third place overall, matching their 2019 result, which was the best for the program since 1998. Bowdoin actually exceeded their team point total from the 2019 (109), scoring 116 to finish behind only Middlebury (149) and Tufts (142) and edging Williams (115) by a single point.
• Bowdoin boasted three individual winners at the meet: Charlotte Hodge (pole vault), Jada Scotland (discus) and Emma Hargreaves (shot put).
• Scotland won the discus with a throw of 35.55m (116-08) to take the win by nine inches. She also took third in the hammer throw (42.93m) and fourth in the shot put (10.84m) for Bowdoin.
• Hargreaves won the shot put event with a throw of 12.14m (39-10.00), dominating the field by a nearly two-foot margin. She was also the runner-up in the hammer (45.22m) and fifth-place finisher in the discus (34.87m) in a big day for the Bowdoin throwers.
• Hodge claimed the pole vault by two inches, clearing a height of 3.75m (12-03.50) to take the win.
• Other top finishes for Bowdoin included Kianne Benjamin, who was second in the 100m (11.96) and third in the 200m (24.79), and Lydia Pitts, who was second in the 100m hurdles (14.67) and the triple jump (12.05m)
• In the field events, Corinne Ahern took second place in the javelin throw (34.10m).
