Records Fall as Women’s Track Posts Outstanding Weekend at Silfen Invitational

NEW LONDON, Conn. - Lydia Pitts set two new school records and Kianne Benjamin broke a school mark of her own in a record-setting day for the Bowdoin women's track team at the Silfen Invitational hosted by Connecticut College this weekend.

Meet Highlights
- The Polar Bears finished with 110 points in a stellar showing, trailing only Middlebury (118.5) in the highly-competitive meet.
- Pitts established new school marks in the 100m hurdles (14.62) and triple jump (12.34m) which also ranks first in the NCAA D3 rankings, finishing first in both events.
- Kianne Benjamin raced to a second-place showing in the 200m (25.01), setting a new school mark in the process. She also took third in the 100m event.
- Emma Hargreaves had a big day in the throws, winning the hammer (48.29m) and finishing second in the discus and third in the shot put.
- Serena Jonas posted the best New England D3 mark of the spring with a total of 4225 in the heptathlon.
- Cianna O'Flaherty wears third in the 400m (59.14) while Leila Trummel took fourth in the 1500m (4:42.16).
- A personal best by Jenna Albanese (5.42m) in the long jump netted a third-place finish.
