WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Bowdoin triple jumper Lydia Pitts and 60m dasher Kianne Benjamin both earned All-American honors in a fantastic weekend for the Polar Bear track teams at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship last weekend in North Carolina.
 
Meet Highlights - Complete Results 

• Lydia Pitts, in the final indoor meet of her collegiate career, reaching a distance of 11.95m in her second attempt of the championship, and that was good enough to hold in fourth place overall, earning her All-American honors, just .45 off the winning distance. Pitts also competed in the 60m hurdles, where she captured a 15^th-place finish after recording a time of 8.92 in prelims, just .14 seconds off the qualifying time.
• Kianne Benjamin broke her own school record in the prelims of the 60m dash on Friday with a qualifying time of 7.64 and then ran a 7.65 in Saturday's final to finish third by a mere .04 seconds, capturing her first All-American honor.
• Other Bowdoin competitors at nationals for the women's team included Lelia Trummel, who took 16^th in the mile prelims (5:06.83), Cianna O'Flaherty, who placed 16^th in the preliminaries of the 400m (58.20) and Charlotte Hodge, who cleared a height of 3.40m to take 14^th in the pole vault competition.
• For the Polar Bear men, Ajay Olson just missed qualifying for the 200m finals with a time of 21.90 in the prelims, good enough for 10^th overall. Cheng Xing also just missed out on finishing in the top-eight in the long jump, taking ninth with a distance of 7.06m.
