CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Bowdoin College women's squash team concluded its season 16
th in the nation following competition in the Kurtz Cup Division of College Squash Team Nationals this weekend in Massachusetts.
Despite falling in three matches, the Polar Bears held true to their 16
th seed, ending their year with an 11-10 record, posting the most wins in a season for the program since the 2015-16 squad.
Weekend Highlights
- Seeded eighth in the Kurtz Cup Division, Bowdoin lost its first round match to Cornell (9-0), its consolation round match to Williams (7-2) and the 15th-place match to Bates (6-3).
- After being shut out against the Big Red on Friday, Bowdoin won a pair of individual matches in the loss to Williams on Saturday.
- Ursula Sze posted a 3-0 sweep at number six (11-6, 12-10, 11-4) and Melissa Horan carded a hard-fought 3-2 win at number eight (11-4, 7-11, 5-11, 11-8, 11-9).
- In their final match of the season on Sunday afternoon, the Polar Bears couldn't get past rival Bates to close out the year. Sze won her second match of the weekend, 3-0 (11-5, 11-6, 11-7) while Caroline Glaser also took a 3-0 victory (11-4, 11-6, 11-8). Emma Watts-Roy also posted a win, 3-1 (13-11, 7-11, 11-5, 11-8) at number two.
