Track & Field Teams Boast Numerous New England Qualifiers at Outstanding Ruddy Invitational

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College indoor track & field teams capped an incredibly successful home campaign with numerous New England qualifying performances at the Lynn Ruddy Invitational last weekend. 

Women's Meet Highlights 

  • CIanna O'Flaherty won the 200M (26.62) in D3 New England qualifying time, beating her collegiate PR by 0.9 while Lauren Traum won the 1000M (3:09.75) to also earn D3 NE qualification. 
  • 800M D3 NE qualifier Jamie Lau took third in her season debut (2:27.0), beating her PR by 14 seconds.
  • Lydia Pitts won the triple jump (12.01m) to continue to be ranked in the top three nationally in the event, and also improved her 60M hurdles school record to 8.80. 
  • Jenna Albanese earned a win in the long jump finals (5.52m) with a personal best while Jada Scotland won the shot put (11.47m) with her own PR. 
  • Emma Hargreaves took first in the weight throw with a toss of 15.86m. 

Men's Meet Highlights

  • Ajay Olson continued his outstanding campaign by winning the 60M again and improving his school record to 6.87 in finals.
  • Cheng Xing led a huge day for the Polar Bears in the long jump (7.24 - a personal best) as Bowdoin finished 1-4 in the event. He also had a strong season-debut with a .2 PR to also qualify for D3NE in the 60M race. 
  • Jack Andrews also had a big day in the long jump, going 6.50 to qualify for d3NE.
  • Brooks Peters claimed the 1000M in a personal best (2:33.7) while Sam Angeline took the 5000M (15:23.99)
  • Will Goddard, in his first collegiate tracks event won the 3000M race by 3 seconds in a time of 8:40.67.
  • Bowdoin went 1-3 in the 60M hurdles, led by a first place time of 8.49 from William Warlick
  • Nick Sibiryakov capped the day with a season-best of 4.45m to win the pole vault for the Polar Bears, just edging teammate Ryan Durkin
