Women's Squash Comes Up Just Short in Loss at Bates

LEWISTON, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's squash team dropped a mid-week decision to Bates, 6-3, on Thursday evening. The 20th-ranked Polar Bears fell to 0-2 with the loss while the 15th-ranked Bobcats improved to 2-2.
 
Match Highlights
  • The Polar Bears got wins at number three, seven and eight but lost a pair of tight matches at six and two to drop to the Bobcats.
  • Bowdoin's most impressive performance of the night came from Caroline Glaser, who took a convincing 3-0 (14-12, 11-9, 15-13) win at the number three position for the Polar Bears.
  • Bowdoin received a pair of 3-2 wins at seven and eight, courtesy of Marguerite Crowder (8-11, 11-7, 8-11, 11-4, 11-6) and Melissa Horan (5-11, 11-4, 3-11, 11-1, 11-9).
  • The Polar Bears almost pulled off the win, but lost a pair of close, 3-2, matches despite the best efforts of Amanda Cowhey at number two and Ursula Sze at six.
