Women's Track & Field Ties Bates for Indoor State Championship

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin and Bates women's indoor track & field teams tied for the 2020 Maine State Championship on Saturday evening at Farley Field House.

The Polar Bears and Bobcats deadlocked at 213 points to take the first-place tie. Southern Maine (95) and Colby (55) finished third and fourth.

Meet Highlights

  • Brittney McKinley claimed a pair of first-place finishes for the Polar Bears, winning both the 60M dash (7.86) and 200M (25.86) while Caroline Shipley won both the 1000M (3:05.76) and mile (5:04.89).
  • Belinda Saint Louis led the way for the throwers, winning both the shot put (12.03m) and weight throw (14.33m) competitions.
  • Other winners on the track for Bowdoin included Emma Beane in the 400M (59.15), Claire Traum in the 800M (2:19.72).

  • Bowdoin will return to action at the Dave Hemery Invitational next weekend at Boston University.
