Women's Squash Wins Hard-Fought Road Battle at Colby

WATERVILLE, Maine – The middle of the lineup excelled for the Bowdoin women's squash team as the Polar Bears earned a 5-4 win at Colby on Wednesday night.

The 21st-ranked Polar Bears improve to 7-6 on the year while the 26th-ranked Mules fall to 2-8 this season.

Match Highlights

  • Four Polar Bears posted dominant 3-0 wins to help Bowdoin claim the win in Waterville.
  • Ursula Sze, Sophie Barber, Maya Chandar Kouba took 3-0 wins at number three, four and six, respectively. Meanwhile, Callie Burkhart took a 3-0 victory at number eight for the Polar Bears.
  • The difference maker was Melissa Horan who battled her opponent at number five for a 3-2 (11-5, 5-11, 3-11, 11-6, 11-5) win that proved to be the clincher for the Polar Bears.
