Women's DMR Earns All-American Honors on First Day of NCAA Championship

BOSTON, Mass. – The Bowdoin College women's distance medley relay earned All-American honors while the 4x400 meter relay team qualified for the finals on day one of the NCAA Division III Championship Friday night.

The DMR team of Delaney Bullock, Sara Ory, Claire Traum and Caroline Shipley posted a time of 11:50.25 to take eighth place, earning All-American honors for the second year in a row. Bullock opened in the 1200M in 3:37 before handing to Ory for a 58.8 400 leg. Claire Traum went 2:17 on a leg that included a lot of contact with other runners before Caroline Shipley closed with a 4:55.7.

In the 4x400 meter prelims, the 12th-seeded Polar Bears vaulted to sixth place and qualified for Saturday's finals with a fantastic time of 3:52.41. In Bowdoin's heat Emma Beene led off with a 58.4 and handed off in third place to Morgen Gallagher, who held third with a leg of 58.2. Samantha Schaefer passed off in third with a 58.1 before Sara Ory moved the Polar Bears from third to second with a 57.5 on the anchor leg.
