AMHERST, Mass. – The Amherst women's hockey team spoiled Bowdoin's comeback bid with a pair of late third period goals to take a 3-2 win on Saturday night.

The Polar Bears sit at 1-11-1 (0-5-0 NESCAC) on the season. The Mammoths are 5-5-2 (2-3-2 NESCAC).

Game Highlights

• Amherst took a 1-0 lead  1:27 into the second period. Miriam Eickhoff snaked through the Bowdoin defense and found Katelyn Pantera on the far left post. Pantera had an open look at the net for game's first.
• Bowdoin responded three minutes later as Allison Britt found Marissa Fichter at the edge of the offensive zone. Fichter cut across the Amherst zone and fired a shot from the right dot off the goalie and over the line.
• The game's final three goals all came within five minutes of each other, beginning with Bowdoin's first lead of the night at 11:23 in the third. Angelina Joyce rushed towards net and buried a shot off a feed from Tala Glass and Cassidy Pratt.
• The Mammoths tied the game two minutes later and notched the game-winner with 3:35 remaining. The Polar Bears were unable to find an equalizer in the final minutes.

By the Numbers

• Kerri St. Denis made 39 saves for the Polar Bears.
• Anna Kuresel made 32 stop for the Mammoths.
• Bowdoin was 0-for-1 on the power play.
• Amherst went 0-for-2 on the power play.
