BRUNSWICK, Maine - Thirteen different players scored to lead the Bowdoin College women's lacrosse team to a 22-6 victory over the University of New England on Tuesday evening at Ryan Field.

The 21st-ranked Polar Bears (2-0) rolled to their second-straight, double-digit victory to start the 2018 campaign. The Nor'easters drop their first game of the season and fall to 1-1 on the year.

Game Highlights

• The Nor'easters were able to stay with the Polar Bears for the opening five minutes, trailing just 2-1 following a Molly Camelo goal with 26:56 left in the opening period.
• Bowdoin took command with seven-goal run, sparked by a trio of Kate Kelly goals to push their lead to 9-1 with under eight minutes to go in the first half.
• Consecutive goals by Hannah Hirschfeld and Eliza Denious gave the Polar Bears a 11-2 lead at the break.
• Bowdoin continued to roll in the second half, starting the period on a 9-1 run and extending their lead to as many as 17 goals en route to the win.

• Hannah Hirschfeld led Bowdoin with two goals and three assists while Katherine Miller scored a game-high four goals.
• Eliza Denious and Kate Kelly had three goals each for the Polar Bears.
• Korinne Bohunsky scored three times for UNE and added four draw controls.
• Kara Finnerty and Morgan Pinado had four draw controls each while Denious added two caused turnovers. Grace DeWald had four ground balls and two caused turnovers for Bowdoin.
• Kayli Weiss had seven saves and allowed three goals in 48:30 for Bowdoin. Erin Morrissey allowed three goals in the second half.
• Maritza Nary made eight stops (11 goals) in the opening half for UNE before giving way to Taylor Hopkins, who made two saves (11 goals) in the second half.
